You may as well ask “How long is a piece of string?”. Actual battery run time depends upon the power demands made of the equipment by the user. The screen or monitor, the hard drive and other accessories such as DVD drives are the big power consumers. If you use Windows software (like we have a choice!) it constantly accesses the hard drive resulting in an additional drain upon the battery, effectively reducing its running time. The total running time of the battery is also dependent upon the design of the equipment. Generally, a our new battery will run at least as long (and usually- longer) as your old battery did when it was new.
